Error 1328: Applying patch to file C:\config.msi\PT583. It has probably been updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch. For more information, contact your patch vendor.

You might also receive Error 15103 for the same problem. You can choose to ignore the error (although the error can still occur).

You can receive this error when the .tmp files in the config.msi folder prevent QuickBooks from finishing the repair or update. The config.msi folder is a temporary repository for storing scripts that are needed to rollback an installation if it fails. After the application is installed correctly, the contents of this folder are deleted. Sometimes this content cannot be removed, causing problems with QuickBooks ability to repair or update itself.
