Lightspeed POS API

To use the Lightspeed Retail API, you need an API key, which gives you access to the contents of your Lightspeed Retail account through our Application Programming Interface. Protect your API key just as you would your password.Note: To access the Lightspeed Retail Settings, a user must have the "Administrator" right enabled in their employee account.
  1. On the Main Menu click Settings > Client API Access > Add New API Key.
  2. In the text box, provide a brief description and click Request API key.
When our Support team receives the request, they will email you at Lightspeed Retail email address when the API key is created.
  1. On the Main Menu click Settings > Client API Access and click your new API key.
  2. Specify the API key settings.Note: If you select Access To All Controls with Create, Read, Update, Delete enabled, the key will have access to everything in the API.

  2. When the authentication dialog box opens, enter your Lightspeed Retail API Key in the Name field and apikey in the Password field.
